Plans for Do It Yourself CNC machines

This site gives information regarding software, stepper and drive suppliers.

Manuals

The plans include hundreds of images and dimensioned CAD drawings, with step by step written instructions.

The plans are each written as stand alone manuals. They are available individually or in combinations. The plans for the 13x13 machine are included at no additional cost with all other plan purchases.

Accuracy

Very good for the cost. Pictures are worth thousands of words.

Rapids at 35 to 200+ inches per minute depending on the leadscrews and drive components.

The smaller machines were designed to carry a trim router, and the Rack and Pinion/ Leadscrew machine was designed to use a full sized router.

These plans do not include directions for the software and electronics. This information is covered by the recommended software and stepper suppliers.

These plans do address the Step per Unit values needed to configure the software.

The machines were all designed to use the stepper and drive systems from Xylotex and HobbyCNC. These cost $250 to $600 depending on the desired features.
The recommended software is Mach3 or TurboCNC. Other software and motor suppliers can be used.

The above vendors work with the Do It Yourself market, and supply documentation and help forums for their products.
